This article intends to show you how to find the big players on Football Manager 2011- especially the regens. A little ground info. Regens come into the game so when the older players retire from football there are still enough players to play the game. The better players are difficult to find, but after years of experience in playing this game i've gathered some easy tips on finding players. I'll tell you two of my tactics in getting the players that Barcelona always seem to get.

1. Become a scout yourself.

Scouting is an obvious way to find good players; however, where you look and what teams you scout is the difference between finding average players and the better ones.

- National Teams; National teams always cap their best players. Fact. Where better to look than the national team? Teams like Spain, England and France do have expensive regens at times, however, look at the smaller teams; Namibia, South Africa, Belarus, etc. The big teams scouts will rarely look at these countries. Russia is a personal favourite for me and has always been a casket for hidden treasure.

- Top teams in unknown countries; Do you know who the African Stars are? Probably not- but every person in Namibia does. When looking on the national sides like Russia and so forth, have a look at their best, well-known teams (on the front page in a box on the bottom left). You'll often find some hidden gems in here.

**2. Stealing youth players not in contract.**

Very few people, if any, have found this idea. As you may now, at the beginning of every seasonevery club brings in new youths. These youths are not contracted and so you can pick them up on frees- put the problem is you don't know how much they're worth, etc? No problem! Click the 'Approach to sign' button on a new player look before he is contracted and you will be able to see how good he is by how much compensation you need to give if you sign him (bottom right). A world-class player will need a compensation of around 2+ Million. A really good player will only need around 600k+ compensation.

So at the start of each season and in each league have a search for the best players. I've collected many decent players using this trick. Most European clubs intake their youths in June and July. La Liga is around July 2nd. The German Bundasliga around June 27th and the same for the premiership. WARNING: You do need to look at these players within a week of them coming to the club or the best ones will receive contracts!
